Hial, Ida, and Arthur, the Nelsons’ second oldest son, are all buried at the local cemetery. As written on the Nelson’s grave, Hial was born on February 4, 1848 and died on October 19, 1922, and Ida was born on December 26, 1854 and died on January 6, 1947. The epitaph on the tombstone says of Hial Nelson “Deacon of the baptist church 18 years, and when he had served his generation, he fell asleep.”
Arthur (1880-1958) is buried with his two wives, Ada Hooper Nelson and Ethel Lombard Nelson.
