Description
This page of the 1923 edition of the Haverhill High School yearbook features a young Lillian Nelson alongside her senior year activities. Lillian, apparently nicknamed “Bill,” was the class vice president in 1922 and 1923, as well as a member of the philomathian club, glee club, class play, and dramatic club. Her senior quote was “Zeal and duty are not slow,” perhaps personifying Lillian as a dutiful and engaged learner. The other two students who inhabit this page are Warren Emerson Murray and Eleanor Graves Nason, both also involved in the philomatian club and members of the student government.
